UDAIPUR
Udaipur is known as the 'Jewel of Rajasthan'. It is also called as the 'city of lakes'. It is a beautiful and a heritage rich city known for its palaces, forts, gardens, lakes and romantic backdrops. It is also a popular wedding as well as a honeymoon destination in India. Lots of Indian as well as foreign tourists make a visit to this place as it is one of the most favourable and perfect spots for tourism. The City Palace situated on the Pichola lake is one of the most remarkable sights you will ever see. The forts here are a wonderful piece of architecture and planning. Udaipur is home to Asia's largest man-made lake, the Jaisamand lake. You will feel proud to be an Indian after seeing the magnificient heritage wealth of this city.
HOW TO REACH:
By air: Maharana Pratap airport is just 25 kms northeast of the city of Udaipur. Practically, the entire world is connected to Udaipur via indirect flights through New Delhi and Mumbai.
By rail: Trains ply daily to and from the cities of New Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Chittorgarh, Ajmer, etc.
By road: Private operators as well as Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation run inter-state buses to nearby states. If you choose to drive down to Udaipur, the national highways NH76, NH8 and NH76 are the ones that would lead you there.
BEST TIME TO VISIT: Winters here are pleasant with sunny days and cool nights. The short but distinct monsoon season in Udaipur enhances the beauty of the city with lush greens and enchanting lakes.

You will get to learn a lot after visiting Udaipur. The people here are simple and very cultured and have taken a lot of effort to preserve the heritage and history of this city. The lakes , palaces and the forts here simply fascinate me. Udaipur shall always remain one among my favourite places to visit.
